Mark Isambard Brunel
Mark Isambard Brunel was one of the first inventors to create the ocean liner. He was born in Normandy, France in 1769. In 1793 he reached New York and comenced a career as an architect and civil engineer. After 6 years in New York he moved to England. He died in 1849. His son Isambard Kingdom Brunel,was born in 1806. By 1835 he thought of a steam ship that would journey to New york. It would be called the Great Western. It was the largest of its time and the first to make regularly scheduled journeys across the atlantic.
